The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the financial and administrative operations of the college. This includes overseeing the colleges’ finances, events, and facilities.
Suzanne McDermott is the Operations Manager for Benjamin Franklin College. Prior to assuming her role at Benjamin Franklin College almost four years ago, Suzanne spent ten years working for Yale Facilities.
A graduate of Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), Suzanne spent her career before to coming to Yale in IT in the financial services industry. Suzanne resides with her husband, a special education administrator, and her two children, Daniel, first year at FordhamUniversity in the Bronx, and Caroline, a sophomore in high school , on the shoreline, where she is a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for her town. She is an avid ice hockey/gymnastics/ softball/volleyball mom.
In her free time, Suzanne can be found at Fenway Park or Cape Cod or running 5Ks with the college. She has completed two half marathons and is now training for a full marathon.
Teddy the Golden Retreiver recently joined Suzanne’s family. Teddy likes running in the nature preserve, chewing expensive furniture, getting dirty, and then taking baths.
